Our objectives are well-being, environmental sustainability and a multi-sensory cuisine: Every dish at our restaurant is made with healthy genuine ingredients that will gratify you visually as well as satisfying your senses of smell and taste. Our cooking is inspired by central European Alpine cuisine and the rediscovery of local traditional dishes. We get as many of our supplies as possible from local producers and respect “intelligent” food miles.
In the mountains excellent food is produced: milk, butter, cheeses, meat, mushrooms and salami, but there are some specialties that must inevitably be purchased elsewhere, like Parmigiano-Reggiano (parmesan) cheese, Angus meats, Barolo or Brunello wines, Pachino tomatoes and red Tropea onions. So, in this regard, we avoid being too extreme and use our common sense. Guests who cannot eat certain foods for personal choice or because of digestive problems can try our gluten free dishes.
Some examples of dishes are illustrated below and our guests' comments will give you an idea of how good the Ciarnadoi's cooking is, definitely one of the best restaurants in Val di Fassa.
The morning starts with an abundant breakfast buffet, a triumph of many different types of brioche, five different types of bread, Danish pastries, sponge cake, pound cake, fresh fruit, fruit in syrup, conserves, raspberries, blueberries and strawberries to add to yoghurt, muesli, two kinds of yoghurt, three varieties of cold meat that vary from day to day, hot sausages and wurstel, cheeses and scrambled, hard boiled and poached eggs. Freshly squeezed orange juice for each person, fruit juices, all kinds of tea, American coffee, hot and cold milk and Ginseng and barley coffee. Have we forgotten anything? In the afternoon we provide delicious homemade cakes and sweets made from day to day, Strudel with Bavarese sauce, Sacher cake, Schwarzwaelder cake, lemon cake, carrot cake and many more to enjoy with fruit juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate with cream, cappuccino, latte macchiato. Once a week the “GELATERIA CIARNADOI” provides Forest fruit, Vanilla, Macedonia, Peach Melba, Coffee, and Chocolate ice creams.
Evening gourmet menu with 5-6 courses. In addition to the table menu there is a further choice of starters, entremets, cooked and raw vegetables, local cheeses with jams and mustard.
To accompany our dishes we have a very interesting wine list to choose from. It includes wines from all over Italy, Europe and the world, but mainly focuses on wines from Trentino and South Tyrol: white, red, rosé and sparkling wines that have little to envy with the more noble Italian or non-Alpine competitors or wines originating beyond the Alps. You don't have to order a whole bottle but can order by the glass so that you can try different wine combinations with different dishes.
