Cycling & mountain biking
The cycling trails of the Dolomites run through the valleys of Fassa and Fiemme coasting the river Avisio along a route about 48 km long with a total elevation gain of 650 m. From Ciarnadoi you descend towards Vigo, pass through the town in the direction of San Giovanni, at the intersection with the ss 48 cross the road and next to the Hotel San Giovanni descend towards the river Avisio and cross over it.
From here you can either cycle towards Pozza, Campitello, Canazei, on a trail that's partly dirt track or follow in the direction of Soraga. From Soraga, after Moena, leave the Sassolungo, Catinaccio and Monzoni mountains behind and continue towards Predazzo and Molina di Fiemme, where the cycling trail ends. Once there you can return to the starting point by bus (public service or with the Bike Express Fassa Fiemme service). In summer in Val di Fassa cycling is definitely one of the most popular sports.

Full-face helmet, highly technical protective equipment, full-suspension bike with disk brakes: the "gravity killers" have arrived in Val di Fassa! Nothing to worry about, we are talking about downhill, one of the most extreme variants of mountain biking that drags the Dolomites into a vortex of pure adrenaline. Some compare downhill to motocross, others to downhill skiing. One thing is certain: it's not a sport for wimps. In Val di Fassa the downhill routes start high up, near the great peaks.
The Fassa Bike Resorts of Belvedere and Malga Frommer are easily reached with the ski lifts from Canazei and from Nova Levante. From an altitude of 2,000 m the explosive descent begins with swerves, jumps, obstacles, parabolic curves and steep slopes. You hurtle down the trails at speeds that can reach 70 km/h. Grass, dirt track, woods, and mud: this is what the downhill fanatics can expect in Val di Fassa.
For the most part you're standing on the pedals, your arms absorbing the vibrations from the ground, your hands firmly gripping the brakes and your leg muscles taut in a tsunami of adrenaline. At the beginning the instructors of the Fassa Bike sports association will teach you the "rules of the game". Downhill is a thrilling sport, but don't be intimidated, it can enjoyed by everyone thanks to routes of varying difficulty. Of course, you do have to be a bit daring, have quick reflexes, know how to manoeuvre your mountain bike well and, above all, maintain maximum concentration during the descent.
In summer the Val di Fassa has a splendid driving range in the countryside at the foot of the Col Rodella in Campitello di Fassa. The driving range, run by the "Val di Fassa Golf Club", is open from 15 June to 9 September, can be accessed from Ischia (cable car departure point) and has a driving range with 10 bays, 2 of which are covered, a putting green, a practice bunker, as well as a new training course with 5 holes (n. 2 PAR 4 / No. 3 PAR 3). In July and August lessons are given by professional instructors.
The highest golf course in Europe, the golf course of Carezza, is located just 8 km from the hotel (9 holes). The golf course of Monte San Pietro (18 holes) is 20 km from Ciarnadoi.

From the slopes of Col Rodella and Belvedere, every day lots of paragliding enthusiasts take flight animating the blue sky with their manoeuvres, in an absolutely unique setting where the colours of nature, the green forests, the gray of the rocky peaks, the white snow on the Marmolada and the reds of the sunset blend with the colours of the sails in an unusual curious rainbow.
The thrill of flying in this natural paradise is not only for experts, but for novices too, thanks to the tandem paraglider, which means everyone who is brave enough can experience the exhilaration of flying in complete safety accompanied by national instructors. Information and booking at the reception.
Mountains, woods, fresh air, rivers: what better setting for an excursion on horseback or to try horse riding for the first time, perhaps with your children, who will find ponies and horses specially trained for children to ride at the riding stables. It's an opportunity to do something different, and is also worth a visit just to learn more about the animal world.
