    Bike & Mountain bike

Val di Fassa is a bikers paradise. There are numerous forest paths and trails even at a high altitude. Then there are the increasingly popular e-bikes: assisted pedalling makes it easier on the legs (but does not eliminate the effort completely!), allowing you to cover longer distances without special training.

Your bike hotel in Val di Fassa

At the Ciarnadoi there is a special room available for guests to store their bikes in. Every room has a heated cabinet to store mountain equipment, shoes and sports clothing in; the room also has a sink and everything necessary to clean and wash bikes and walking boots/climbing shoes.

In the summer Val di Fassa has a splendid golf range surrounded by nature at the foot of Col Rodella in Campitello di Fassa. The driving range, managed by "Val di Fassa Golf Club" with access from the village of Ischia (cable car stop) has 10 bays, 2 of which are covered, a putting green, a practice bunker as well as a new 5 hole practice course (no. 2 PAR 4 / no. 3 PAR 3). In the months of July and August lessons are provided by professional instructors.
Just 8 km from the hotel there is the highest golf course in Europe and one of the most challenging in Trentino-South Tyrol, the Carezza golf course (9 holes). This course opened 100 years ago was already in use in Austro-Hungarian times when nobles used to spend their summer holidays in Carezza. The Monte San Pietro (18 holes) golf course is 25 km from Ciarnadoi.

    Cycle lane

The cycle lane in the Dolomites crosses through val di Fassa and val di Fiemme along the River Avisio for a total of 48 km with an elevation gain of 650 metres. From Ciarnadoi it descends to Vigo, crosses through the village towards San Giovanni, crosses over the SS 48 at the crossroads and descends towards the River Avisio next to the San Giovanni Hotel and then crosses the river. From here you can pedal to Pozza, Campitello and Canazei on a partly dirt track or continue towards Soraga. From Soraga, once you have passed Moena, Sassolungo, Catinaccio and the Monzoni mountain ranges it continues to Predazzo and Molina di Fiemme where the cycle path ends. Once you reach your destination you can return by bus (buses with the Fassa Fiemme Bike Express service). In the summer in Val di Fassa cycling is one of the most popular sports.

    Downhill Mountain Biking

Full-face helmet, highly technical protective equipment, a full-suspension bike with disk brakes: the "gravity killers" have arrived in Val di Fassa! There’s nothing to worry about, we are talking about downhill, one of the most extreme variants of mountain biking that whisks the Dolomites into a vortex of pure adrenaline. Some compare downhill to motocross, others to downhill skiing. In Val di Fassa the downhill routes start high up, near the great peaks.

Fassa Bike Resorts in Belvedere and Carezza can be reached easily with the ski lifts from Canazei and from Nova Levante. From an altitude of 2,000 m the explosive descent begins with swerves, jumps, obstacles, parabolic curves and steep slopes. You hurtle down the trails at speeds that can reach 70 km/h. Grass, dirt track, woods, and mud: this is what downhill fanatics can expect in Val di Fassa.

The majority of the time you are standing on the pedals, your arms absorbing the vibrations from the ground, your hands firmly gripping the brakes and your leg muscles taut in a tsunami of adrenaline. At the beginning instructors of the Fassa Bike sports association will teach you the rules of the “game". Downhill is a thrilling sport, but don't be intimidated, it can enjoyed by everyone thanks to the numerous trails of varying difficulty. Of course, you have to be a bit daring, have quick reflexes, know how to manoeuvre your mountain bike well and, above all, maintain maximum concentration during the descent.
