Winter in the Dolomites: The ideal Hotel for skiers
A fun-packed skiing holiday in Trentino
A white blanket replaces the green meadows and woods. In the winter a soft blanket of snow covers the fields and the ski slopes.
Those who love the snow will find the Ciarnadoi hotel the ideal place to stay at for skiing in Val di Fassa during your winter in the Dolomites. Whether it’s for a skiing holiday in Trentino or a weekend on the slopes the Ciarnadoi Hotel is in a really strategic position in the heart of Val di Fassa. You can forget the car here you are already on the ski slopes. The hotel shuttle buses take you to the cable car in Ciampedie in 2 minutes and the one in Bufaure in 5 minutes which is the gateway to the Sella Ronda ski area. Ski buses going to the Carezza Ski Area stop in front of the hotel.
Skiing in Val di Fassa allows you to enjoy the breath-taking scenery in one of the most beautiful areas in the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During your skiing holiday in Trentino you can take advantage of one of the master classes especially for guests of the Design Hotel Ciarnadoi with a specialised ski instructor in collaboration with the Vigo di Fassa and Passo Costalunga Ski School.

Walks on the snow on well-trodden paths and snowshoeing
La Val di Fassa is the only valley in the Dolomites that can boast of as many as twelve side valleys. Many paths used in the summer are also accessible in the winter too. You can't imagine how peaceful it is to walk in this season, towards Vael, Gardeccia, Val di Dona, Duron, Contrin, Fuciade, Monzoni and San Nicolò. In Val Duron you can sit near the mountain lodge and listen to the soft gurgling of the stream that runs nearby among the ice and snow. In winter the sounds are completely different from the summer, when the water seems to be alive, chirpy and cheerful. Try it for yourself.
Snowshoes and crampons are available to use in the hotel. At the reception you can find all the information and advice you need on where to go, on the conditions of the trails and the snow. Twice a week there are outings to the Ciampedie area organised in collaboration with the Catinaccio cable car, with a difficulty level to suit the participants. More challenging excursions (including transport for an additional fee) are organised to passo Carezza, Gardeccia, Vajolet, Val san Nicolò and Val Monzoni and Contrin valley. You will be spoilt for choice.
Ice-skating
Ice-skating races have been popular in northern Europe for a very long time. Even in the Alps this sport was very common on frozen lakes. In Val di Fassa there are no lakes that are suitable for skating but there is the Gianni Scola ice-skating rink in Alba.
Sun terrace
Winter as we know is not always blessed with the sun. In the city many times there is fog and it isn’t sunny all the time in the mountains. The Ciarnadoi Hotel has a roof top sun terrace with sun loungers on the fourth floor so you can take advantage of the sun until the afternoon. Only get a suntan on your face and neck? At least it will be proof that you’ve been to a healthy place like the mountains in Val di Fassa in the Dolomites.
